Abstract

ABSTRACT
Aim: The aim of the study is to examine whether there is a relationship between static and dynamic balance values and simple reaction times of physical education and sports teacher students.
Material and Method: The study was carried out with the participation of 69 male and 61 female physical education and sports students between the ages of 18-24. Dynamic balance measurements of the participants were measured with the Y balance test, static balance measurements were measured with the flamingo test, and simple reaction time measurements were measured with the Newtest 1000.
Results: As a result of the study, no difference was found between the variables according to gender (p>.05). While there was no relationship between variables in female (p>.05), only a moderate positive correlation was observed between static balance and auditory reaction time in male (p<.05).
Conclusion: While there was no relationship between balance and simple reaction times of female students in physical education and sports teaching department, a relationship was found in male students. The effect of the gender factor on reaction time and balance skills is observed.
